Aquamarine

This natural, untreated aquamarine, weighing 1.25 ct, was cut from the same 16.10 ct rough crystal as its larger counterpart. The decision to use an elegant pear cut made it possible to optimally preserve the unique characteristics of this crystal and impressively highlight its natural beauty.

The light, greenish-blue hue gives the gemstone a delicate, fresh radiance, while its eye-clean transparency allows light to flow through the stone almost unimpeded. The precise faceting creates a vibrant brilliance and accentuates the harmonious shape of the pear cut in a particularly elegant way.

Although this aquamarine and the larger oval-cut stone were both carved from the same rough crystal, each has developed its own character due to the individual orientation of its cut. Together, they tell the story of an extraordinary crystal whose natural beauty has been preserved in two unique gemstones.

Why is the yield so low?
When cutting a gemstone, the focus is not on achieving the highest possible final weight, but on achieving the best possible combination of color, clarity, brilliance, and proportions. A large portion of the original crystal is intentionally removed to bring out the gemstone’s natural beauty to the fullest.
