With its intense brilliance, pronounced glassy depth, and vivid greenish-blue to blue reflections, this natural and untreated 1.87 ct aquamarine has a remarkably attractive and lively appearance despite its visible natural characteristics.

A 16.47 ct rough crystal yielded two cushion-cut aquamarines. This larger sister stone displays a fresh greenish-blue hue that is repeatedly accented by clearer tones thanks to numerous light reflections. Especially when in motion, the stone develops an intense sparkle and a beautiful sense of depth.

Natural features are visible within the stone. While they are a distinct part of this stone’s character, they allow for sufficient transparency and light transmission, ensuring that its brilliance and lively play of light are beautifully preserved. It is precisely this interplay of internal structure, transparency, and bright light reflections that gives it an interesting, almost glass-like effect.

The cushion cut enhances this play of light with its broad, gently rounded shape and numerous facets. This creates an interplay between light blue and greenish-blue areas, vivid reflections, and calmer, transparent sections.

Another aquamarine weighing 1.03 ct, also in a cushion cut, was crafted from the same rough crystal. Both sister stones share the same origin and a similar color palette, yet each displays its own unique character due to the different sections of the original crystal.

Why is the yield so low?
When cutting a gemstone, the focus is not on achieving the highest possible final weight, but on achieving the best possible combination of color, clarity, brilliance, and proportions. A large portion of the original crystal is intentionally removed to bring out the gemstone’s natural beauty to the fullest.
