Aquamarine

This natural, untreated aquamarine, weighing 3.18 ct, was cut from a rough crystal weighing 16.10 ct.

Its delicate shade, ranging from light turquoise to greenish-blue, gives it a fresh, clear, and exceptionally light appearance. Its nearly eye-clean transparency makes the stone appear open and almost glass-like, allowing plenty of space for light to unfold within it.

Its extraordinary brilliance is particularly impressive. Even the slightest movement creates numerous bright reflections that travel through the stone, causing the delicate turquoise to glow intensely again and again. This makes the aquamarine appear significantly more vibrant and striking than its delicate color might initially suggest.

The oval cut beautifully enhances this play of light, combining soft proportions with clear, balanced faceting. Depending on the viewing angle, the color appears slightly cooler and bluer or reveals a more subtle greenish sheen.

From the same rough crystal, another teardrop-cut aquamarine - AQ06/2 - was crafted. Both stones share the same origin but, due to their different orientations and shapes, each reveals its own unique expression of the original crystal.

An exceptionally brilliant aquamarine with a delicate light turquoise hue, high transparency, and a luminous, almost glass-like presence - subtle in color, yet remarkably powerful in its play of light.

Why is the yield so low?
When cutting a gemstone, the focus is not on achieving the highest possible final weight, but on achieving the best possible combination of color, clarity, brilliance, and proportions. A large portion of the original crystal is intentionally removed to bring out the gemstone’s natural beauty to the fullest.
