With its subtle play of colors ranging from greenish-blue to light blue, its exceptionally high transparency, and intense brilliance, this natural, untreated 1.21 ct aquamarine possesses a particularly clear, fresh, and three-dimensional radiance. Greenish-blue, light blue, and almost glass-like reflections cause the stone to sparkle anew with every movement.

Cut from the same 9.00 ct rough crystal as its sister stone, AQ33/1, this aquamarine appears eye-clean when viewed under normal conditions. No natural characteristics are visible to the naked eye. Even the rough crystal revealed very clear, transparent areas - a characteristic that is particularly striking in the cut stone.

Depending on the viewing angle and lighting, its color shifts between a delicate greenish-blue and a clear, bright blue. In some places, the stone appears almost ice-blue and glass-like, while from other angles, greenish-blue hues stand out more prominently. This direction-dependent color effect lends it additional depth and vibrancy.

The oval cut showcases its clarity particularly beautifully. The faceted structure creates numerous bright reflections, while the stone’s open, transparent appearance is preserved. It is precisely this interplay of high transparency, cool color, and intense brilliance that gives this aquamarine its exceptionally elegant presence.

The same rough crystal was also used to create the 0.94 ct cushion-cut aquamarine AQ33/1. Both sister stones share their high clarity and greenish-blue to light blue color range, yet each displays these characteristics in its own unique way due to their different cuts.

A flawless aquamarine with a delicate greenish-blue to light blue hue, exceptionally high transparency, and intense brilliance - characterized by greenish-blue, light blue, and glassy reflections, as well as a particularly clear, three-dimensional play of light.

The origin of this gemstone: Rough crystal: 9.00 ct

Cut from this rough crystal:

• Oval aquamarine, AQ33/2 – 1.21 ct
• Cushion-cut aquamarine, AQ33/1 – 0.94 ct

Total yield: 2.15 ct – 23.9% of the rough weight

Why is the yield so low?
When cutting a gemstone, the focus is not on achieving the highest possible final weight, but on achieving the best possible combination of color, clarity, brilliance, and proportions. A large portion of the original crystal is intentionally removed to bring out the gemstone’s natural beauty to the fullest.

The aquamarine comes from southern Africa. The rough stone was sourced for us directly from the source by our partners, inspected by us, and then expertly cut.

(*)To the best of our knowledge and according to information from our local partners, the gemstone is untreated.

For an additional fee, we'd be happy to arrange for a certificate from an independent gemological institute to be issued for this gemstone.

Images may vary depending on monitor settings. The videos of the stone were recorded without filters or color correction.

The true beauty of a gemstone is only revealed when you hold it in your hand. With every slight movement, the angle of the light, the reflections, and the play of colors change, giving each stone its own unique vibrancy.

Interesting Facts About Aquamarine

Aquamarine is the blue to bluish-green variety of the mineral beryl. Its color spectrum ranges from a very delicate, pale blue to intense, deep blue hues. Aquamarines with a rich, pure blue color are often referred to in the trade as “Santa Maria aquamarines” and are among the most sought-after examples of this gemstone.

Natural inclusions are characteristic features of a natural gemstone. They can provide clues about its natural origin and help distinguish it from synthetic or imitation materials. At the same time, clarity - along with color, cut, and carat weight - is one of the key factors that determine a gemstone’s quality and value.

High-quality aquamarines also attract the attention of collectors and buyers who view rare colored gemstones as long-term assets. Stones with an intense blue color, high transparency, very good clarity, and an excellent cut are in particularly high demand. Exceptional specimens of this quality are available in limited quantities and have attracted increasing market attention in recent years. However, future performance cannot be predicted and always depends on quality, rarity, and demand.
