This natural, untreated sphene, weighing 1.42 ct, was carved from a 13.64 ct rough crystal. Together with its larger, 2.32 ct oval-cut sister stone, it originated from the same original crystal and showcases its warm play of color in an elegantly flowing form.

Its warm golden-yellow hue is accented by subtle brownish undertones, giving the gemstone a distinctive, vibrant, and at the same time elegant appearance. Depending on the angle of the light, golden, orange, and reddish reflections stand out with varying degrees of clarity. Why is the yield so low?
When cutting a gemstone, the focus is not on achieving the highest possible final weight, but on achieving the best possible combination of color, clarity, brilliance, and proportions. A large portion of the original crystal is intentionally removed to bring out the gemstone’s natural beauty to the fullest.

The sphene originates from southern Africa. The rough stone was sourced for us directly from the source through our partners, inspected by us, and then expertly cut.
