With its delicate ice-blue hue, very high transparency, and intense brilliance, this natural and untreated 0.61 ct aquamarine possesses a particularly clear, light, and elegant appearance. Light blue and almost glass-like reflections lend it additional freshness and depth.
Cut from the same 5.00 ct rough crystal as its sister stone, AQ25/1, this pear-shaped gem appears eye-clean when viewed under normal conditions. No natural features are visible to the naked eye, allowing the stone’s color, transparency, and play of light to shine through with great freedom.
Its delicate ice-blue hue appears slightly different in intensity depending on the viewing angle and lighting. This consistently creates bright, glass-like reflections that dance across the stone, giving it a lively, three-dimensional effect.
The pear cut enhances this clear and elegant appearance particularly beautifully. Its flowing shape and multifaceted surface create a lively sparkle without detracting from the stone’s calm, understated appearance.
The same rough crystal was also used to create the 0.50 ct oval-cut AQ25/1. While the latter exhibits very slight natural characteristics, the larger pear-cut appears eye-clean under normal viewing conditions and is even clearer overall.
A visually flawless aquamarine with a delicate ice-blue hue, very high transparency, and intense brilliance - characterized by light blue, glassy reflections and a particularly clear, elegant play of light.
The origin of this gemstone: Rough crystal: 5.00 ct
Cut from this rough crystal:
• Oval aquamarine, AQ25/1 – 0.50 ct
• Pear-shaped aquamarine, AQ25/2 – 0.61 ct
Total yield: 1.11 ct – 22.2% of the rough weight
Why is the yield so low?
When cutting a gemstone, the focus is not on achieving the highest possible final weight, but on achieving the best possible combination of color, clarity, brilliance, and proportions. A large portion of the original crystal is intentionally removed to bring out the gemstone’s natural beauty to the fullest.
The aquamarine comes from southern Africa. The rough stone was sourced for us directly from the source by our partners, inspected by us, and then expertly cut.
(*)To the best of our knowledge and according to information from our local partners, the gemstone is untreated.
For an additional fee, we'd be happy to arrange for a certificate from an independent gemological institute to be issued for this gemstone.
Images may vary depending on monitor settings. The videos of the stone were recorded without filters or color correction.
The true beauty of a gemstone is only revealed when you hold it in your hand. With every slight movement, the angle of the light, the reflections, and the play of colors change, giving each stone its own unique vibrancy.
Interesting Facts About Aquamarine
Aquamarine is the blue to bluish-green variety of the mineral beryl. Its color spectrum ranges from a very delicate, pale blue to intense, deep blue hues. Aquamarines with a rich, pure blue color are often referred to in the trade as “Santa Maria aquamarines” and are among the most sought-after examples of this gemstone.
Natural inclusions are characteristic features of a natural gemstone. They can provide clues about its natural origin and help distinguish it from synthetic or imitation materials. At the same time, clarity - along with color, cut, and carat weight - is one of the key factors that determine a gemstone’s quality and value.
High-quality aquamarines also attract the attention of collectors and buyers who view rare colored gemstones as long-term assets. Stones with an intense blue color, high transparency, very good clarity, and an excellent cut are in particularly high demand. Exceptional specimens of this quality are available in limited quantities and have attracted increasing market attention in recent years. However, future performance cannot be predicted and always depends on quality, rarity, and demand.
