This natural, untreated green tourmaline, weighing 1.43 ct, was crafted from a 2.81 ct rough crystal. Its color gradient, ranging from a rich dark green to a warmer olive green, gives it a vibrant, multifaceted, and distinctly characterful appearance.

The natural interplay of the two shades of green is particularly captivating. Depending on the angle of light and the viewing angle, the darker green and olive-green areas stand out with varying degrees of clarity, lending the stone additional depth and a shifting play of color.

The tourmaline is eye-clean. Its clear transparency allows light to flow effectively through the crystal, beautifully highlighting the color gradient. As a result, the stone develops a vibrant brilliance and a striking yet elegant presence.

The superbly executed octagon cut combines a clean geometric shape with balanced proportions and precise faceting. Numerous bright reflections cause the gemstone to sparkle anew with every slight movement, effectively highlighting the transition from dark green to olive green.

From its documented origin as a 2.81-carat rough crystal to the finished gemstone, this tourmaline exemplifies meticulous cutting planning, masterful craftsmanship, and the unadulterated beauty of a natural colored gemstone. Its harmonious color gradient, its eye-clean transparency, and its precisely executed octagon cut make it a particularly striking piece in the Bennad Collection.

The Green Tourmaline originates from southern Africa. The rough stone was sourced for us directly from the source through our partners, inspected by us, and then expertly cut.

(*)To the best of our knowledge and according to information from our local partners, the gemstone is untreated.

For an additional fee, we’d be happy to arrange for a certificate from an independent gemological institute to be issued for this gemstone.

Images may vary depending on monitor settings. The videos of the stone were recorded without filters or color correction.

The true beauty of a gemstone is only revealed when you hold it in your hand. With every slight movement, the angle of the light, the reflections, and the play of colors change, giving each stone its own unique vibrancy.

Interesting Facts About Green Tourmaline or Verdelith

Green tourmaline, often referred to in the trade as verdelite, belongs to the diverse mineral group of tourmalines. Its color spectrum ranges from delicate yellowish-green and fresh leaf-green tones to vibrant forest green and deep, slightly bluish-green shades. Many green tourmalines exhibit pronounced pleochroism and can display varying color intensities depending on the viewing angle. Transparent stones with a vibrant, as uniform as possible green color, high brilliance, and an excellent cut are particularly sought after.

Natural inclusions are characteristic features of a natural gemstone. They can provide clues about its natural origin and help distinguish it from synthetic or imitation materials. At the same time, clarity - along with color, cut, and carat weight - is one of the key factors that determine a gemstone’s quality and value.

High-quality green tourmalines attract the attention of collectors, gemstone enthusiasts, and buyers who view rare colored gemstones as long-term assets. Larger, transparent stones with intense, attractive color, very good clarity, and a precise cut that optimally showcases their hue and brilliance are in particularly high demand. Exceptional specimens that combine these characteristics are available in limited quantities and may occupy a special position in the market due to their quality, size, and rarity. However, future value appreciation cannot be predicted and always depends on color, clarity, cut, carat weight, rarity, and demand.
