This natural, untreated ruby, weighing 0.97 ct, was cut from a rough crystal weighing 3.89 ct. Its beautiful pinkish-red color gives it a warm, elegant, and yet vibrant appearance.
The stone features semi-transparent areas where the color opens up particularly beautifully and gains depth. Depending on the angle of the light, certain areas appear brighter and more vibrant, while other zones seem more compact and richer in color. This creates a varied, natural play of color.
Natural growth features are visible within the stone. They are clearly part of this ruby’s unique character and reveal its natural origin. Especially in combination with the semi-transparent zones, they lend the stone a distinctive, three-dimensional effect.
The oval cut suits this stone very well. Its soft, classic shape emphasizes the pinkish-red color and gives the ruby a harmonious, elegant silhouette. At the same time, the facets create vibrant light reflections without compromising the stone’s natural character.
Its untreated condition is particularly noteworthy. The color, transparency, and internal characteristics have not been altered by any subsequent treatment. As a result, this ruby reveals its natural color depth and structure in their purest form.
Its special appeal lies in the harmonious interplay of its warm rose-pink hue, elegant oval shape, vibrant color, and the crystal’s visibly natural interior. The delicate growth patterns lend the stone additional depth and individuality, while its warm color creates a distinctly pleasant and distinctive presence.
The Ruby originates from southern Africa. The rough stone was sourced for us directly from the source through our partners, inspected by us, and then expertly cut.
(*)To the best of our knowledge and according to information from our local partners, the gemstone is untreated.
For an additional fee, we’d be happy to arrange for a certificate from an independent gemological institute to be issued for this gemstone.
Images may vary depending on monitor settings. The videos of the stone were recorded without filters or color correction.
The true beauty of a gemstone is only revealed when you hold it in your hand. With every slight movement, the angle of the light, the reflections, and the play of colors change, giving each stone its own unique vibrancy.
Interesting Facts About Ruby
Ruby is the red gemstone variety of the mineral corundum and thus belongs to the same mineral family as sapphire. Its color is primarily due to traces of chromium and ranges from light pinkish red to vivid ruby red and deep, intense red hues. Particularly beautiful rubies combine a rich color with good transparency and a vibrant brilliance, allowing the red to sparkle anew with every movement.
Natural growth features and inclusions are characteristic traits of a natural ruby and can provide important clues about its natural formation. At the same time, clarity - along with color, transparency, cut, and carat weight - is one of the key quality factors. Since many rubies are heated to improve their color or appearance, untreated or unheated rubies with attractive natural color are particularly sought after.
Transparent rubies with an intense, balanced red color, beautiful depth of color, and a vibrant play of light are particularly prized. High-quality, larger specimens with natural color and no treatment are rare. The quality and value of a ruby depend primarily on color, transparency, clarity, cut, carat weight, and treatment; however, future value appreciation cannot be predicted and is always determined by quality, rarity, and demand.
