This natural, untreated multicolor tourmaline, weighing 1.26 ct, was carved from an extraordinary 52.28 ct rough crystal. Together with four other sister stones, it preserves the fascinating variety of colors and textures found in the original crystal. Its harmonious interplay of pink and yellowish-green hues gives it a vibrant, yet elegant and highly distinctive appearance.

Between the two color zones lies a very light, almost white overtone. As a result, the stone appears less graphic than other multicolor tourmalines and instead takes on an almost fluid, painterly color effect.

The clarity of its colors is particularly striking. Despite its clearly visible natural features, the stone has an almost glass-like appearance and a beautiful sense of depth. The pink appears luminous from different angles and, in places, seems to radiate almost from within the stone itself.

Within the pink area, there is also a delicate orange cloud that lends the stone an additional warm hue and further enhances the depth of its color effect.

The natural features remain clearly visible and are part of the crystal’s natural structure. However, they do not detract from the stone’s clear color or its inner glow, and they create a striking contrast with the areas that appear transparent.

The pear cut accentuates the soft transitions and allows the pink, yellow-green, the light intermediate shade, and the orange hue to emerge anew depending on the viewing angle.

A striking multicolor tourmaline with vivid colors, an almost glass-like depth, an inner glow, and natural patterns that make it a truly one-of-a-kind piece.

Particularly interesting is its connection to the other stones cut from the same rough crystal. In addition to this 1.26 ct pear-cut stone, the collection features a 2.48 ct oval-cut Multicolor tourmaline with its exceptionally scenic pattern, reminiscent of a water lily pond - TB18-1, a 0.32 ct trillion-cut Multicolor tourmaline - TB18-3, a 1.15 ct cushion-cut Multicolor tourmaline - TB18-4 - and a 0.90 ct oval-cut orange-pink tourmaline - TB18-5. Despite their shared origin, each of these sister stones possesses a character all its own.

The origin of this gemstone: Rough crystal, 52.28 ct

Five very different sister stones were created from this extraordinary rough crystal:

• Multicolor tourmaline, oval cut, TB18-1 – 2.48 ct
Pink to olive green, with a distinct landscape-like pattern reminiscent of a water lily pond
• Multicolor tourmaline, pear cut, TB18-2 – 1.26 ct
Pink to green, with distinct growth features, sparkling particles, and beautiful three-dimensional depth
• Multicolor tourmaline, trillion cut, TB18-3 – 0.32 ct
Pink to light yellow-green, with natural growth features and fine, sparkling particles
• Multicolor tourmaline, cushion cut, TB18-4 – 1.15 ct
Pink through an almost white band to olive green, exceptionally transparent and brilliant
• Orange-pink tourmaline, oval cut, TB18-5 – 0.90 ct
Warm color gradient between orange and pink

Total yield: 6.11 ct – approximately 11.7% of the rough weight

This group, in particular, demonstrates in a truly striking way the extraordinary diversity that can be found within a single natural tourmaline crystal. Although all five gemstones were cut from the same 52.28-carat rough crystal, each one possesses its own unique color pattern, internal structure, and optical effect.

The Tourmaline originates from southern Africa. The rough stone was sourced for us directly from the source through our partners, inspected by us, and then expertly cut.

(*)To the best of our knowledge and according to information from our local partners, the gemstone is untreated.

For an additional fee, we’d be happy to arrange for a certificate from an independent gemological institute to be issued for this gemstone.

Images may vary depending on monitor settings. The videos of the stone were recorded without filters or color correction.

The true beauty of a gemstone is only revealed when you hold it in your hand. With every slight movement, the angle of the light, the reflections, and the play of colors change, giving each stone its own unique vibrancy.

Interesting Facts About Multicolor Tourmaline

Multicolor tourmalines feature multiple naturally occurring color zones within a single crystal. Particularly attractive are combinations of rose, pink, green, olive green, or lighter, nearly colorless transitions.

These different colors develop during crystal growth and can appear in the cut stone as clearly defined areas, soft transitions, or multilayered color structures. As a result, every multicolor tourmaline has a unique pattern that varies significantly from stone to stone.

Depending on the orientation of the rough crystal and the choice of cut, these color zones can appear very graphic, flowing, or almost three-dimensional. It is precisely this natural multicolored appearance that gives these tourmalines their special appeal.

Multicolor tourmalines often exhibit more distinct natural characteristics than uniformly colored stones. Therefore, when evaluating them, the focus is not solely on transparency and clarity, but above all on the harmony of the colors, the clarity of the zoning, and the stone’s appearance in the light.

This results in colored gemstones whose character stems directly from the structure of the original crystal - each with its own unique combination of color, structure, and depth.
