This extraordinary natural and untreated tourmaline, weighing 10.57 ct, was carved from an impressive 24.92 ct rough crystal. Its size alone gives it a remarkable presence, but what truly sets it apart is the interplay of color, internal structure, and cut. Turquoise, blue-green, rich green, and yellow-green hues combine to create a multi-layered, almost landscape-like play of colors.

Distinct natural growth features are visible inside the stone. In this tourmaline, these features were not considered something to be concealed as much as possible by the cut. Rather, they are part of its unique visual effect. Together with the various shades of green and blue, they create a fascinating three-dimensional impression—almost like looking into a small aquarium where plants and light move among turquoise-blue and green water.

This inner scene changes depending on the angle of the light and the viewer’s perspective. Turquoise and blue-green areas alternate with rich green and lighter yellow-green sections, while the natural growth structures appear to lie on different planes within the crystal. This creates ever-changing effects of color and depth.

The geometric octagon cut provides a clear framework for this unusual inner world. Its facets allow light to enter various areas of the stone, thereby enhancing both the depth of color and the three-dimensional appearance of its natural structures.

Weighing 10.57 ct, the tourmaline has sufficient volume to allow this inner world to unfold in a particularly striking way. Its beauty does not stem from flawless uniformity, but rather from the combination of intense color, natural crystal structure, spatial depth, and a cut specifically designed to highlight these qualities.

From its documented origin in the rough crystal to the finished gemstone, this tourmaline embodies the philosophy of the Bennad Collection in a special way: Not every natural characteristic of a gemstone needs to be hidden - sometimes it is precisely that characteristic that makes a stone unique.

The Green Tourmaline originates from southern Africa. The rough stone was sourced for us directly from the source through our partners, inspected by us, and then expertly cut.

(*)To the best of our knowledge and according to information from our local partners, the gemstone is untreated.

For an additional fee, we’d be happy to arrange for a certificate from an independent gemological institute to be issued for this gemstone.

Images may vary depending on monitor settings. The videos of the stone were recorded without filters or color correction.

The true beauty of a gemstone is only revealed when you hold it in your hand. With every slight movement, the angle of the light, the reflections, and the play of colors change, giving each stone its own unique vibrancy.

Interesting Facts About Green Tourmaline or Verdelith

Green tourmaline, often referred to in the trade as verdelite, belongs to the diverse mineral group of tourmalines. Its color spectrum ranges from delicate yellowish-green and fresh leaf-green tones to vibrant forest green and deep, slightly bluish-green shades. Many green tourmalines exhibit pronounced pleochroism and can display varying color intensities depending on the viewing angle. Transparent stones with a vibrant, as uniform as possible green color, high brilliance, and an excellent cut are particularly sought after.

Natural inclusions are characteristic features of a natural gemstone. They can provide clues about its natural origin and help distinguish it from synthetic or imitation materials. At the same time, clarity - along with color, cut, and carat weight - is one of the key factors that determine a gemstone’s quality and value.

High-quality green tourmalines attract the attention of collectors, gemstone enthusiasts, and buyers who view rare colored gemstones as long-term assets. Larger, transparent stones with intense, attractive color, very good clarity, and a precise cut that optimally showcases their hue and brilliance are in particularly high demand. Exceptional specimens that combine these characteristics are available in limited quantities and may occupy a special position in the market due to their quality, size, and rarity. However, future value appreciation cannot be predicted and always depends on color, clarity, cut, carat weight, rarity, and demand.
