This exquisite natural, untreated ruby, weighing 0.31 ct, was crafted from a 1.80 ct rough crystal. Its clear pinkish-red hue appears fresh, vibrant, and exceptionally elegant, giving the small stone a surprisingly striking presence.

Its radiant brilliance is particularly beautiful. The precise faceting allows bright reflections to dance across the stone, causing the pinkish-red color to sparkle anew time and again. Despite its light weight, this gives the ruby a very lively appearance and a delicate, almost sparkling play of light.

The oval cut particularly highlights the stone’s elegant appearance. Its soft, balanced shape gives the ruby a classic silhouette, while the facets harmoniously distribute color and light across its entire surface.

The fact that the ruby is untreated makes it even more special. Its color and natural internal structure have not been altered by any post-extraction treatment, so the character of the original crystal has been authentically preserved.

It is precisely the combination of its pinkish-red color, vibrant brilliance, untreated condition, and elegant oval shape that makes this small ruby so appealing. It shows that even a small stone weighing 0.31 ct can create a very elegant and striking effect through its color and the way it catches the light.

The Ruby originates from southern Africa. The rough stone was sourced for us directly from the source through our partners, inspected by us, and then expertly cut.

(*)To the best of our knowledge and according to information from our local partners, the gemstone is untreated.

For an additional fee, we’d be happy to arrange for a certificate from an independent gemological institute to be issued for this gemstone.

Images may vary depending on monitor settings. The videos of the stone were recorded without filters or color correction.

The true beauty of a gemstone is only revealed when you hold it in your hand. With every slight movement, the angle of the light, the reflections, and the play of colors change, giving each stone its own unique vibrancy.

Interesting Facts About Ruby

Ruby is the red gemstone variety of the mineral corundum and thus belongs to the same mineral family as sapphire. Its color is primarily due to traces of chromium and ranges from light pinkish red to vivid ruby red and deep, intense red hues. Particularly beautiful rubies combine a rich color with good transparency and a vibrant brilliance, allowing the red to sparkle anew with every movement.

Natural growth features and inclusions are characteristic traits of a natural ruby and can provide important clues about its natural formation. At the same time, clarity - along with color, transparency, cut, and carat weight - is one of the key quality factors. Since many rubies are heated to improve their color or appearance, untreated or unheated rubies with attractive natural color are particularly sought after.

Transparent rubies with an intense, balanced red color, beautiful depth of color, and a vibrant play of light are particularly prized. High-quality, larger specimens with natural color and no treatment are rare. The quality and value of a ruby depend primarily on color, transparency, clarity, cut, carat weight, and treatment; however, future value appreciation cannot be predicted and is always determined by quality, rarity, and demand.
