Iolite

This beautiful, natural, and untreated iolite, weighing 2.09 ct, was carved from a 7.55 ct rough crystal. It was cut from the same original crystal as a 0.53 ct pear-shaped sister stone. Its deep violet-blue color is accented by lighter lilac reflections, giving it an intense yet very elegant color effect.

The iolite is beautifully transparent. This allows the rich violet-blue color to unfold clearly and take on a remarkable sense of depth. Depending on the angle of the light, lighter lilac-colored reflections dance across the stone, adding vibrant accents to the rich base tone.

The crystal contains only barely visible natural growth features. They remain subtle under normal viewing conditions and have virtually no impact on the gemstone’s clear, harmonious appearance. It is precisely the combination of high transparency and very fine natural structures that gives the iolite its particularly open and clear appearance.

Its beautiful brilliance further enhances this effect. The precise faceting creates bright reflections of light that blend with the deep violet-blue and lilac hues. As a result, the stone appears exceptionally vibrant in motion, without losing its rich, calm depth of color.

The superbly executed pear cut gives the 2.09-ct iolite an elegant, elongated silhouette. The softly rounded base and tapered tip provide ample space for the intense color and allow light to pass through the crystal in a particularly harmonious way. Especially at this size, the teardrop shape appears remarkably striking and well-balanced.

Particularly appealing is its pairing with the 0.53-ct sister stone, which was also cut in a pear shape. Both originate from the same 7.55-ct rough crystal and thus share not only a common origin but also the same characteristic violet-blue color palette.

This 2.09-ct iolite harmoniously combines a deep violet-blue color, light purple reflections, high transparency, and vibrant brilliance. The barely visible growth features recede into the background - the focus is on its clear color depth and the elegant effect of the pear cut.
