Iolite

This natural, untreated iolite weighing 0.72 ct was carved from a 6.30 ct rough crystal. Together with a 0.55 ct sister stone cut in a pear shape, it comes from the same crystal. Its clear violet-blue base color is particularly beautiful, repeatedly enlivened by light lilac reflections.

Depending on the angle of the light, the stone’s appearance changes subtly. The deep violet-blue remains the dominant color impression, while lighter lilac highlights dance across individual facets, lending the stone additional freshness and vibrancy. It is precisely this interplay that makes its color effect exceptionally elegant.

Only slight natural growth features are visible in the crystal. They remain subtle and do not significantly impair either the transparency or the clear color effect. Rather, they lend the stone a subtle, natural individuality without detracting from its calm, elegant appearance.

The precisely executed baguette cut suits this iolite particularly well. Its linear, almost architectural shape draws the eye to the intense color and allows the violet-blue and lilac reflections along the stone to stand out beautifully. The clean geometry lends it a modern and understatedly elegant look.

Its appeal lies primarily in the combination of deep violet-blue, light lilac reflections, and the clear baguette shape. Together with its very fine growth features, this creates a well-balanced iolite with beautiful color depth and a pleasantly vibrant play of light.

The 0.72-carat baguette-cut iolite and its 0.55-carat pear-shaped sister stone represent two different expressions of the same 6.30-carat rough crystal - one linear and serene, the other softer and more dynamic. It is precisely this direct connection between the two stones that makes their shared origin particularly evident.
