This natural heliodor, weighing 0.97 ct, was crafted from a 2.87 ct rough crystal. Even at first glance, its intense, luminous golden hue stands out, giving the stone a warm, sunny, and exceptionally elegant appearance.
The heliodor is eye-clean and highly transparent. This allows light to pass through the crystal almost unimpeded and is vividly reflected off the facets of the oval cut. Particularly beautiful is the interplay of rich golden yellow, lighter yellow highlights, and warm golden flashes of light, which lend the stone remarkable depth.
The oval cut enhances this effect very harmoniously. The open center clearly reveals the crystal’s clarity, while the surrounding facets provide a pronounced, vibrant brilliance. As a result, despite weighing less than one carat, the stone has a strong presence and appears visually larger than its carat weight alone would suggest.
Its particular strength lies in the interplay of color, clarity, and luminosity. The golden-yellow hue appears clear and intense without veering into brown or orange, thereby maintaining a very pure, high-quality appearance. At the same time, the high transparency ensures that the stone does not appear heavy or dark, but rather open, bright, and almost glowing from within.
It is precisely this combination of flawless clarity, an intense golden hue, and remarkable brilliance that makes this 0.97-ct heliodor a particularly beautiful and high-quality example of its variety.
The Gold Beryl originates from southern Africa. The rough stone was sourced for us directly from the source through our partners, inspected by us, and then expertly cut.
(*)To the best of our knowledge and according to information from our local partners, the gemstone is untreated.
For an additional fee, we’d be happy to arrange for a certificate from an independent gemological institute to be issued for this gemstone.
Images may vary depending on monitor settings. The videos of the stone were recorded without filters or color correction.
The true beauty of a gemstone is only revealed when you hold it in your hand. With every slight movement, the angle of the light, the reflections, and the play of colors change, giving each stone its own unique vibrancy.
Interesting Facts About Gold Beryl / Heliodor
Heliodor, or golden beryl, is the yellow to golden-yellow variety of the mineral beryl. Its color spectrum ranges from a delicate, pale yellow through slightly greenish-yellow hues to intense, vibrant golden tones. Transparent heliodors with a rich, uniform golden-yellow color are particularly sought after, as they are among the highest-quality specimens of this gemstone variety.
Natural inclusions are characteristic features of a natural gemstone. They can provide clues about its natural origin and help distinguish it from synthetic or imitation materials. At the same time, clarity - along with color, cut, and carat weight - is one of the key factors that determine a gemstone’s quality and value.
High-quality heliodors are particularly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts of rare beryl varieties. Larger, transparent stones with an intense, uniform golden-yellow color, very good clarity, and excellent cut are in particularly high demand. Exceptional specimens that combine these characteristics are available only in limited quantities and can command a special market position due to their color, size, and rarity. However, future performance cannot be predicted and always depends on quality, carat weight, rarity, and demand.
