This natural, untreated beryl, weighing 1.21 ct, was cut from a rough crystal weighing 7.93 ct. Its color falls within a particularly attractive transitional range between green beryl and heliodor, and it primarily displays a fresh, greenish-yellow undertone.
Its pronounced pleochroic color effect is particularly distinctive. Depending on the angle of the light and the viewing angle, green and yellow hues stand out with varying intensity, causing the stone to appear in ever-changing color tones. This vibrant interplay lends the gemstone an unusual depth and a very natural, fresh radiance.
The beryl is eye-clean. Its high transparency allows light to pass through the crystal almost unimpeded, enhancing both its subtle color and its striking brilliance. As a result, the stone appears open, luminous, and exceptionally vibrant.
The superbly executed oval cut combines harmonious proportions with precise faceting. Numerous bright reflections cause the gemstone to sparkle anew with even the slightest movement, making the pleochroic shift between green and yellow particularly beautiful to behold.
From its documented origin as a 7.93-carat rough crystal to the finished gemstone, this beryl exemplifies meticulous cutting planning, masterful craftsmanship, and the unadulterated beauty of a natural crystal. Its extraordinary color, which falls between green beryl and heliodor, its flawless transparency, and its vibrant brilliance make it a particularly interesting piece in the Bennad Collection.
The Heliodor comes from southern Africa. The rough stone was sourced for us directly from the source by our partners, inspected by us, and then expertly cut.
(*)To the best of our knowledge and according to information from our local partners, the gemstone is untreated.
For an additional fee, we'd be happy to arrange for a certificate from an independent gemological institute to be issued for this gemstone.
Images may vary depending on monitor settings. The videos of the stone were recorded without filters or color correction.
The true beauty of a gemstone is only revealed when you hold it in your hand. With every slight movement, the angle of the light, the reflections, and the play of colors change, giving each stone its own unique vibrancy.
Interesting Facts About Gold Beryl / Heliodor
Heliodor, or golden beryl, is the yellow to golden-yellow variety of the mineral beryl. Its color spectrum ranges from a delicate, pale yellow through slightly greenish-yellow hues to intense, vibrant golden tones. Transparent heliodors with a rich, uniform golden-yellow color are particularly sought after, as they are among the highest-quality specimens of this gemstone variety.
Natural inclusions are characteristic features of a natural gemstone. They can provide clues about its natural origin and help distinguish it from synthetic or imitation materials. At the same time, clarity - along with color, cut, and carat weight - is one of the key factors that determine a gemstone’s quality and value.
High-quality heliodors are particularly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts of rare beryl varieties. Larger, transparent stones with an intense, uniform golden-yellow color, very good clarity, and excellent cut are in particularly high demand. Exceptional specimens that combine these characteristics are available only in limited quantities and can command a special market position due to their color, size, and rarity. However, future performance cannot be predicted and always depends on quality, carat weight, rarity, and demand.
