Cut shape: cushion
Treatment: untreated*
Origin: Southern Africa

This natural, untreated emerald, weighing 1.19 ct, was cut from a rough crystal weighing 4.00 ct. Its rich, classic emerald-green color is clearly its greatest strength and gives the stone a beautiful and very striking appearance, despite its clearly visible natural inclusions.

The crystal exhibits distinct growth characteristics typical of emeralds. In addition, visible natural black inclusions are present, particularly in the outer areas. In comparison, the central area appears calmer, allowing the intense green to stand out particularly beautifully. This creates an interesting interplay of color, transparency, and a distinctly natural texture.

In some places, the stone opens up beautifully to the light and develops a vibrant green depth. Other areas appear more textured and somewhat more compact. It is precisely this variation that gives the emerald its unique appearance and makes it look different depending on how the light falls on it.

The cushion cut suits this stone very well. Its softly rounded shape gives the 1.19-ct stone a harmonious silhouette and provides ample surface area to showcase its intense green color, while preserving its natural structures.

It is particularly noteworthy that this emerald is unoiled and untreated. Its color, transparency, and internal characteristics have not been altered by any post-treatment. It thus showcases both its beautiful emerald-green color and the textures that developed during its natural growth.

The Emerald originates from southern Africa. The rough stone was sourced for us directly from the source through our partners, inspected by us, and then expertly cut.

(*)To the best of our knowledge and according to information from our local partners, the gemstone is untreated.

For an additional fee, we’d be happy to arrange for a certificate from an independent gemological institute to be issued for this gemstone.

Images may vary depending on monitor settings. The videos of the stone were recorded without filters or color correction.

The true beauty of a gemstone is only revealed when you hold it in your hand. With every slight movement, the angle of the light, the reflections, and the play of colors change, giving each stone its own unique vibrancy.

Interesting Facts About Emerald

The emerald is one of the world’s best-known and most sought-after colored gemstones. Its characteristic green color is caused by traces of chromium and vanadium and can range from light, fresh green to deep, intensely saturated shades.

As a member of the beryl family, the emerald is related to aquamarine and heliodor. Unlike many other gemstones, it often contains natural inclusions. These unique structures are traditionally referred to as “jardin” and are considered a characteristic feature of its natural formation. They can lend the stone depth, character, and a distinctive appearance.

Natural inclusions are characteristic features of a natural gemstone. They can provide clues about its natural origin and help distinguish it from synthetic or imitation materials. At the same time, clarity - along with color, cut, and carat weight - is one of the key factors that determine a gemstone’s quality and value.

Emeralds that offer a balanced combination of intense color, good transparency, and a harmonious cut are particularly prized. Due to their rarity and their history stretching back thousands of years, they continue to symbolize elegance, natural beauty, and timeless beauty to this day.
