With its delicate ice-blue hue, high transparency, and intense brilliance, this natural and untreated 1.16 ct aquamarine possesses a particularly clear, light, and elegant appearance. Depending on the angle of the light, it displays reflections ranging from glassy to slightly turquoise, which lend the stone an added sense of freshness.

Cut from the same 8.89 ct rough crystal as its sister stone, AQ19/1, this pear-shaped gem is eye-clean. No natural features are visible to the naked eye, allowing the color and play of light to shine through particularly well.

Its play of color is visibly different from that of the smaller trillion cut. While the AQ19/1 stands out for its almost kaleidoscopic play of light, this stone appears calmer and more fluid. Depending on the viewing angle, delicate ice blue, very light glassy sections, and slightly turquoise-looking reflections alternate.

The pear cut beautifully enhances this elegant effect. Its flowing shape and faceted surface create numerous bright reflections and lend the aquamarine a vibrant brilliance and beautiful three-dimensional depth, despite its delicate hue.

The same rough crystal was also used to create the 0.63 ct trillion-cut AQ19/1. Both sister stones share the same origin and a light, cool color palette, yet their different cuts create two distinctly different light effects.

A clear, eye-clean aquamarine with a delicate ice-blue hue, high transparency, and intense brilliance - characterized by glassy to slightly turquoise-looking reflections and a particularly light, elegant aura.

The origin of this gemstone: Rough crystal: 8.89 ct

Cut from this rough crystal:

• Trillion-cut aquamarine, AQ19/1 – 0.63 ct
• Pear-shaped aquamarine, AQ19/2 – 1.16 ct

Total yield: 1.79 ct – 20.1% of the rough weight

Why is the yield so low?
When cutting a gemstone, the focus is not on achieving the highest possible final weight, but on achieving the best possible combination of color, clarity, brilliance, and proportions. A large portion of the original crystal is intentionally removed to bring out the gemstone’s natural beauty to the fullest.

The aquamarine comes from southern Africa. The rough stone was sourced for us directly from the source by our partners, inspected by us, and then expertly cut.

(*)To the best of our knowledge and according to information from our local partners, the gemstone is untreated.

For an additional fee, we'd be happy to arrange for a certificate from an independent gemological institute to be issued for this gemstone.

Images may vary depending on monitor settings. The videos of the stone were recorded without filters or color correction.

The true beauty of a gemstone is only revealed when you hold it in your hand. With every slight movement, the angle of the light, the reflections, and the play of colors change, giving each stone its own unique vibrancy.

Interesting Facts About Aquamarine

Aquamarine is the blue to bluish-green variety of the mineral beryl. Its color spectrum ranges from a very delicate, pale blue to intense, deep blue hues. Aquamarines with a rich, pure blue color are often referred to in the trade as “Santa Maria aquamarines” and are among the most sought-after examples of this gemstone.

Natural inclusions are characteristic features of a natural gemstone. They can provide clues about its natural origin and help distinguish it from synthetic or imitation materials. At the same time, clarity - along with color, cut, and carat weight - is one of the key factors that determine a gemstone’s quality and value.

High-quality aquamarines also attract the attention of collectors and buyers who view rare colored gemstones as long-term assets. Stones with an intense blue color, high transparency, very good clarity, and an excellent cut are in particularly high demand. Exceptional specimens of this quality are available in limited quantities and have attracted increasing market attention in recent years. However, future performance cannot be predicted and always depends on quality, rarity, and demand.
