This exceptionally beautiful, natural, and untreated tourmaline, weighing 1.33 ct, was cut from the same 9.13 ct rough crystal. Together with its 0.97 ct cushion-cut sister stone, it was cut from the same original crystal and also displays the fascinating play of colors ranging from blue-green to green and yellowish-green hues.

The fresh, vibrant color effect of this tourmaline is particularly appealing. Depending on the angle of the light and the viewing angle, its appearance changes significantly: at times a cool blue-green hue stands out, at other times a clear, vibrant green, and then again a warmer yellowish-green shade. Combined with its strong brilliance, this creates an dynamic and three-dimensional effect.

The stone exhibits visible natural growth features, which recede into the background visually. They do not detract from either the clear overall appearance or the brilliance, but merely subtly highlight the crystal’s natural formation.

The superbly executed pear cut combines a softly rounded side with an elegantly tapering tip, giving the tourmaline a particularly harmonious yet dynamic silhouette. The precise faceting creates numerous bright reflections and beautifully highlights both the intense brilliance and the varied interplay of blue-green, green, and yellowish-green hues.

From its documented origin in a 9.13-carat rough crystal to the finished gemstone, this tourmaline exemplifies meticulous cutting planning, masterful craftsmanship, and the authentic individuality of a natural colored gemstone. Its fascinating, vibrant play of color, its strong brilliance, and its natural pairing with the 0.97 ct cushion-cut sister stone make it a particularly captivating piece in the Bennad Collection.

The Green Tourmaline originates from southern Africa. The rough stone was sourced for us directly from the source through our partners, inspected by us, and then expertly cut.

(*)To the best of our knowledge and according to information from our local partners, the gemstone is untreated.

For an additional fee, we’d be happy to arrange for a certificate from an independent gemological institute to be issued for this gemstone.

Images may vary depending on monitor settings. The videos of the stone were recorded without filters or color correction.

The true beauty of a gemstone is only revealed when you hold it in your hand. With every slight movement, the angle of the light, the reflections, and the play of colors change, giving each stone its own unique vibrancy.

Interesting Facts About Green Tourmaline or Verdelith

Green tourmaline, often referred to in the trade as verdelite, belongs to the diverse mineral group of tourmalines. Its color spectrum ranges from delicate yellowish-green and fresh leaf-green tones to vibrant forest green and deep, slightly bluish-green shades. Many green tourmalines exhibit pronounced pleochroism and can display varying color intensities depending on the viewing angle. Transparent stones with a vibrant, as uniform as possible green color, high brilliance, and an excellent cut are particularly sought after.

Natural inclusions are characteristic features of a natural gemstone. They can provide clues about its natural origin and help distinguish it from synthetic or imitation materials. At the same time, clarity - along with color, cut, and carat weight - is one of the key factors that determine a gemstone’s quality and value.

High-quality green tourmalines attract the attention of collectors, gemstone enthusiasts, and buyers who view rare colored gemstones as long-term assets. Larger, transparent stones with intense, attractive color, very good clarity, and a precise cut that optimally showcases their hue and brilliance are in particularly high demand. Exceptional specimens that combine these characteristics are available in limited quantities and may occupy a special position in the market due to their quality, size, and rarity. However, future value appreciation cannot be predicted and always depends on color, clarity, cut, carat weight, rarity, and demand.
