These two untreated green tourmalines, with a combined weight of 9.22 ct, were carved from a natural rough crystal. Their color is a deep, rich dark green that lends the stones a serene, almost mysterious presence.
Depending on the angle of the light, individual intense green reflections emerge and dance across the dark base color. This creates a subtle yet captivating play of light that is particularly evident when the stones are in motion.
Distinct natural growth features are visible inside. They clearly define the character of both stones and make their natural origin immediately recognizable, without completely overshadowing the deep green color.
Thanks to their size and their harmoniously matched teardrop shapes, the two tourmalines together create a strong presence. The cut emphasizes the contrast between the dark surfaces and the sporadic flashes of green.
An extraordinary pair of tourmalines for lovers of dark, characterful colored gemstones - with striking depth, visible natural structure, and a mysterious green radiance.
The Green Tourmaline originates from southern Africa. The rough stone was sourced for us directly from the source through our partners, inspected by us, and then expertly cut.
(*)To the best of our knowledge and according to information from our local partners, the gemstone is untreated.
For an additional fee, we’d be happy to arrange for a certificate from an independent gemological institute to be issued for this gemstone.
Images may vary depending on monitor settings. The videos of the stone were recorded without filters or color correction.
The true beauty of a gemstone is only revealed when you hold it in your hand. With every slight movement, the angle of the light, the reflections, and the play of colors change, giving each stone its own unique vibrancy.
Interesting Facts About Green Tourmaline or Verdelith
Green tourmaline, often referred to in the trade as verdelite, belongs to the diverse mineral group of tourmalines. Its color spectrum ranges from delicate yellowish-green and fresh leaf-green tones to vibrant forest green and deep, slightly bluish-green shades. Many green tourmalines exhibit pronounced pleochroism and can display varying color intensities depending on the viewing angle. Transparent stones with a vibrant, as uniform as possible green color, high brilliance, and an excellent cut are particularly sought after.
Natural inclusions are characteristic features of a natural gemstone. They can provide clues about its natural origin and help distinguish it from synthetic or imitation materials. At the same time, clarity - along with color, cut, and carat weight - is one of the key factors that determine a gemstone’s quality and value.
High-quality green tourmalines attract the attention of collectors, gemstone enthusiasts, and buyers who view rare colored gemstones as long-term assets. Larger, transparent stones with intense, attractive color, very good clarity, and a precise cut that optimally showcases their hue and brilliance are in particularly high demand. Exceptional specimens that combine these characteristics are available in limited quantities and may occupy a special position in the market due to their quality, size, and rarity. However, future value appreciation cannot be predicted and always depends on color, clarity, cut, carat weight, rarity, and demand.
