This 1.34-carat multicolor stone, featuring a particularly striking color composition, was crafted from an exceptional 38.82-carat rough tourmaline crystal.
A bold, vibrant pink section occupies most of the stone and meets a clearly defined green section. Between them lies a light, almost white transition that softly blends the two colors and lends the stone additional depth.
The play of light within the stone is particularly fascinating. Between the color zones, subtle pink and green shimmering reflections are visible, while a warm orange glow emerges from deeper areas. This combination of color, shimmer, and inner light makes the stone appear different depending on the viewing angle.
Despite clearly visible natural features, the color effect remains clear and open. The stone possesses an almost glass-like depth, through which the individual color areas stand out spatially from one another.
The geometric cut enhances this effect and clearly defines the natural zoning without limiting its vibrancy.
An extraordinary multicolor tourmaline with a high proportion of pink, distinct color separation, glass-like depth, and a warm inner glow - a particularly striking one-of-a-kind piece within our multicolor collection.
Of particular interest is its connection to the other stones from the same rough crystal. In addition to this 1.34 ct Multicolor tourmaline in a baguette cut, a 1.39 ct Multicolor tourmaline in an octagon cut was also created, a 0.73-carat Multicolor tourmaline in a trillion cut, and a 0.88-carat warm, delicate pink tourmaline in a pear cut. Despite their shared origin, each of these four sister stones has a color pattern and internal structure that is entirely unique.
The origin of these gemstones: Rough crystal, 38.82 ct
The following gemstones were cut from this rough crystal:
• Multicolor tourmaline, octagon cut, TB19-2 – 1.39 ct
• Multicolor tourmaline, baguette cut, TB19-5 – 1.34 ct
• Multicolor tourmaline, trillion cut, TB19-3 – 0.73 ct
• Pink tourmaline, pear cut, TB19-4 – 0.88 ct
Total yield: 4.34 ct – about 11.2% of the rough weight
The Tourmaline originates from southern Africa. The rough stone was sourced for us directly from the source through our partners, inspected by us, and then expertly cut.
(*)To the best of our knowledge and according to information from our local partners, the gemstone is untreated.
For an additional fee, we’d be happy to arrange for a certificate from an independent gemological institute to be issued for this gemstone.
Images may vary depending on monitor settings. The videos of the stone were recorded without filters or color correction.
The true beauty of a gemstone is only revealed when you hold it in your hand. With every slight movement, the angle of the light, the reflections, and the play of colors change, giving each stone its own unique vibrancy.
Interesting Facts About Multicolor Tourmaline
Multicolor tourmalines feature multiple naturally occurring color zones within a single crystal. Particularly attractive are combinations of rose, pink, green, olive green, or lighter, nearly colorless transitions.
These different colors develop during crystal growth and can appear in the cut stone as clearly defined areas, soft transitions, or multilayered color structures. As a result, every multicolor tourmaline has a unique pattern that varies significantly from stone to stone.
Depending on the orientation of the rough crystal and the choice of cut, these color zones can appear very graphic, flowing, or almost three-dimensional. It is precisely this natural multicolored appearance that gives these tourmalines their special appeal.
Multicolor tourmalines often exhibit more distinct natural characteristics than uniformly colored stones. Therefore, when evaluating them, the focus is not solely on transparency and clarity, but above all on the harmony of the colors, the clarity of the zoning, and the stone’s appearance in the light.
This results in colored gemstones whose character stems directly from the structure of the original crystal - each with its own unique combination of color, structure, and depth.
