With its fascinatingly multifaceted trillion cut, its exceptional brilliance, and its reflections ranging from glassy to an almost violet-blue hue, this natural and untreated 0.63 ct aquamarine possesses an extraordinarily vibrant and kaleidoscopic play of light.
Cut from an 8.89 ct rough crystal, the stone appears eye-clean when viewed under normal conditions. No natural characteristics are visible to the naked eye. Its high transparency and multitude of facets allow light to travel unimpeded through the stone.
Its delicate light blue hue provides a serene backdrop for a strikingly dynamic play of light. When moved, the stone repeatedly reveals bright, glass-like patches of light with a cool blue-violet hue, making it appear significantly larger and more vibrant than its light weight would suggest.
The trillion cut is particularly distinctive. The multitude of facets creates a kaleidoscopic effect in which light, color, and reflections are constantly rearranging themselves. This gives the aquamarine a modern, precise, and at the same time playful appearance.
Another aquamarine weighing 1.16 ct with a pear cut - AQ19/2 - was also crafted from the same rough crystal. Both sister stones share the same origin, but their different cuts create distinctly different effects of light and color.
An exceptionally vibrant, eye-clean aquamarine with a delicate light blue hue and very high brilliance - characterized by a kaleidoscopic trillion cut and reflections ranging from glassy to a faint violet-blue.
The origin of this gemstone: Rough crystal: 8.89 ct
Cut from this rough crystal:
• Trillion-cut aquamarine, AQ19/1 – 0.63 ct
• Pear-shaped aquamarine, AQ19/2 – 1.16 ct
Total yield: 1.79 ct – 20.1% of the rough weight
Why is the yield so low?
When cutting a gemstone, the focus is not on achieving the highest possible final weight, but on achieving the best possible combination of color, clarity, brilliance, and proportions. A large portion of the original crystal is intentionally removed to bring out the gemstone’s natural beauty to the fullest.
The aquamarine comes from southern Africa. The rough stone was sourced for us directly from the source by our partners, inspected by us, and then expertly cut.
(*)To the best of our knowledge and according to information from our local partners, the gemstone is untreated.
For an additional fee, we'd be happy to arrange for a certificate from an independent gemological institute to be issued for this gemstone.
Images may vary depending on monitor settings. The videos of the stone were recorded without filters or color correction.
The true beauty of a gemstone is only revealed when you hold it in your hand. With every slight movement, the angle of the light, the reflections, and the play of colors change, giving each stone its own unique vibrancy.
Interesting Facts About Aquamarine
Aquamarine is the blue to bluish-green variety of the mineral beryl. Its color spectrum ranges from a very delicate, pale blue to intense, deep blue hues. Aquamarines with a rich, pure blue color are often referred to in the trade as “Santa Maria aquamarines” and are among the most sought-after examples of this gemstone.
Natural inclusions are characteristic features of a natural gemstone. They can provide clues about its natural origin and help distinguish it from synthetic or imitation materials. At the same time, clarity - along with color, cut, and carat weight - is one of the key factors that determine a gemstone’s quality and value.
High-quality aquamarines also attract the attention of collectors and buyers who view rare colored gemstones as long-term assets. Stones with an intense blue color, high transparency, very good clarity, and an excellent cut are in particularly high demand. Exceptional specimens of this quality are available in limited quantities and have attracted increasing market attention in recent years. However, future performance cannot be predicted and always depends on quality, rarity, and demand.
